Russian cbank sees demand for retail, corp loans rising Jan–Jun

MOSCOW, Mar 10 (PRIME) -- Russian banks’ terms of retail loans will be easing in January–June which may trigger growth of demand and demand for corporate loans will be recovering in the period as well, the central bank said in a statement on Thursday.

“According to expectations of banks, the survey participants, the terms of retail lending will be easing in general in the first half of the year. Expectations of growth of demand for loans have been expressed in the majority of the regional segments of the market,” the central bank said.

Quarterly growth of corporate loans slowed down to 0.1% in October–December 2015 from 2.1% in July–September 2015, the central bank said. “According to expectations of banks that participated in the survey, demand for loans by both large corporate borrowers and small businesses will be recovering in the first half of 2016,” the authority said.
